Kakabae - Tadiyandamol trek in Coorg Day 2

All the bad roads took the toll on Ramya. She decided to rest in the morning. The place was less active, so I decided to leave the bike in front of the hotel. This is give a feel that ramya is not alone at the house. rahul decided to leave back the FZ, he was complaining about low ground clearance yesterday. So I and Vinal rode on the P220 and Ashwin and Rahul on the karizma.

The sceney at the dawn was too good. We felt like clicking all the way



We then reached the palace from where the offroad towards the peak starts

After this palce we couldnt take the bikes. So parked them near the rock. There was falls near by. we refilled our water bottles. We just had 2 for 4 of us.

The trek was not tedious initally




we were crossing a lot of peaks, not knowing which is the spot. Every peak hides behind the other and only we reach close to the peak we find the other.




In between we need to cross this jungle too


Luckily no leached this time around



All tired, needing for water. The cans were with Vinal and Rahul

When these two came, they said all water was over :(






I was soo thirsty. and that too seeing these two coming I was happy that am gonna get some water. But then I was betrayed. This increased the thirst. So we decided to decent waste and get to the falls fast. God only knows how fast I came back. rahul filled some water from the falls, while we stayed at the bikes.

Ashwin was too tired and he rushed his bike towards the village.

We reached there by 10;30 and had some nice break fast.

From there on it was straight heading back to bangalore. we came via Kusal nagar. After KusalNagar the roads were good. by 6 we reached mysore. Took the shortcut that avoids mysore. had our dinner at McDolds and reached home by 11.

Kakabae - Tadiyandamol trek in Coorg

Me, Ashwin, Rahul and Vinal decided to hang out after a long time. Ashwin googled around and came up with a plan. day 1 Brahmagiri Hills and Day2 Kakabae - Tadiyandamol trek. To my suprise my wife too volunteered to join in. The starting time was decided to 3 am. It was raining heavily in the morning but still we decided to push away. By 6 we were at mysore, had Break fast there and moved on. By 7 sun was out and the rain cleared away.

After this I took and speeds and rode away. After some 1 hr I took a break. Waiting for the others.

Then we can to know that I should ve taken the left to go via vijarapet. So had to track back.
We regrouped at the junction and had a good laugh.

We then reached Vijarapet. Took a left there to Brahmagiri. The road after this was pathetic. I with a pillion found it difficult to maintain speeds with them. Then at the place where we need to get the permits we learnt that we should ve been there by 11 max to get the permits. It was 12:30. So had lunch there and planned to visit the falls and then go to kakabae and stay!

The falls was pathetic with very less water. ya its the begining of the monsoon and we were too early.





From there we pushed off to kakabae. Again the rpads were pathetic.. We reached kakabae by 7 pm

Kudremukh Adventure Day 2

Next day we got by around 8. uff A bit of hangover. had some black coffee and read omlet. we decided to go for River Rafting. We reached the rafting hut by 12, we waited upto 3pm for our turn to come.

It was still drizzling and sometimes raining. Buy 3pm we were all set to go for the Raft!!


The rafting was excellent and the Guide had some good skills. It was 7km raft, had 4 rapids and had to dodge 3 whirlpools. I and Praveen took the steer position. So it was more fun at the rapids ;)

By the time we left the place it was 5:30 and we need to travel the ghat section upto Mudigere. There were a lot of trees fallen on the road and had been cut to make the road. I was just praying that there should be no freshly fallen trees.


by 10 we reached Hassan. The rain looked to have eased up. But everything we had is already wet. The Cramster saddle bags proved Useless. I find that the new products from Cramster is utter waste. Previously they looked rugged and served the purpose. now its just a poser value. call it modernisation!! dammm..

We were near to Kollegal by 2:30. There the RTR developed some problem. Mohan had installed a safety remote lock, which has remote ignition. Due to the rains it went catapult. It start switching off the bike, turning the sirens etc.. I went really mad. Some how made it rest and had some snacks at CCD.

I and Praveen reached Nelamangala by 4, Then we got a call from Mohan. Expecting a major problem I received it. francis Spoke. he said the RTR killed itself when he was around 90 kmph and they are stuck at some 10 kms from Kollegal. I asked praveen to stay back so that if required he can get a pick up truck and reach the spot. But he said we can come back to get it, if required. The drive back was very painful. I and Praveen was sleeping all the over road. Some how we reached the spot. When I open the airfilter was shocked to see water again collected in the Aribox. Checked the engine oil and it was empty. So its a seizure for sure. By 6 Francis was able to get a minidoor auto and RTR was towed to bangalore.
