Day1 bangalore - jog-honnavar

It was a calm yet busy Friday evening.
Was quite excited about the trip. The plan was quite doable but had a less spare time to loose… 2 days 2 bikes and 550 km on each day with 200 km of ghats and jungle.
Did all the ground work - gather medicines and eatables and asked Sumit to take the tool kit. That eveing also meet Sunil to give my donation to the NGO kids... Went home checked everything and tried to sllep by 10;30...
but then got calls from the Friends Ashwin and John.. Both were like 50-50 didnt know wat made them to drop off.. but both msged negative by 12.. then tried to get some sleep.. and ya slept successfully for 45 mins.. before the alarm yelled..
The time was 1 am.. gave a wake up call to Sumit and went for a hot shower.. came out and was shocked to see msg from Ashwin He was still wake.. felt bad, could understand wats going in his mind.. as I too felt the same when I missed the Kodachadri trip due to my illness...

Well.. this is how it started...
2:20 am @jayanagar 4th Block

Started around 2:45 from banglore and started tomwards tumkur. This is one part I always scare. The roads were pity straight so I would rip by bike a lot. and also un noticed problems would surface. So kept it low arnd 80s-100s reached tumker by 3:55.. I Felt thirsty so had a five mins break and made sure both were comfortable...
Then started towards Shimoga. It was still dark and found a the road to be with a bit of more traffic. After 20 or 30 kms the traffic reduced and had the bikes a bit higher sppeds... 90-100.. Also was watchful of the potholes and blind bumps.. The second break came after 110 kms and was 5 km to arshekare had a tea break.. Had a hot tea and started again.
Time 5:20

Stopped to clic the sunrise arounf 6.

From there it started ripped the bikes on top end kept it around 100+ all the time.. and was 15 kms to shimoga by 7:00.. Found the roads to be too foggy.. even wondered if its fog or something else..

The roads were really bad was doind only 20s.. after right devision that we take to shimoga the roads became ok but still the fogs prevailed.. saw a truck toppled

Reached shimoga by 8:30. The rear crash gard had brought in a some crack to the silencer pivot of the Tb. found a welding shop and got it fixed..
some 15mins was lost in this.. Then had our breakfast one masaldosa each.. Then started our ride towards sagar-jog. The roads to sagar was not on its not notch as It was in July.. but still ok could do 100s on straights and 80s on turns... stopped for a few clicks and then moved to Sagar..

The roads from sagar to jog was excellent and near it starts the much awaited cornerings... all cormers were done on 4th and 5th gear and whenever we looked at the speedo it shoud 60s and 80s but damm there was not rain... reached Jog by 12:30 pm...
Rested our bikes on shade the moved towards the fog.. It was dam hot and humid. Had a few pinaple cuts and cucumber.. ha there they were ppl wanted to know about the comet - price, milage, cc, make. The jackets added to the attraction.

Results of cornering... 90% - Done

80% - Done

The Jog was quite dirty.. was Green in color may becoz of algae grown during the rainy season...

Started from jogg around 2 pm and ripped towards honnavar.. The twisties were jus awesome and yammy. ate then at high speeds.. then found a small falls on the way and had a dip.. This were we found the snake..

had a cool dip on the falls. Splashed water for a while and had a small lunch with the chappathis that we had packed... Another group of Afghanis stopped by for the falls there..
Then we started towards the sharawath valley... between the falls and the valley the twisties were excellent.. it was of all shapes... W S C N Z.. There was on 'O' curve almost 300 degrees.. both me and sumit didnt expect it... kept on bending... didnt feel liek breaking... yup I scratched my left foot peg..
Sharavath Valley
