Day 4 contd3 - Pang and The AMS Drama

After we crossed Nakeela, there were a huge stream to cross. A few trucks have stopped near the stream, guess fearing to cross. The boulders beneath the water was too huge. But the mindset was just to reach Pang. Didnt think even for a second. Revved the engine, and let the bike in the middle of the Stream and all I know was I was on the other side. No Idea what was inside.

My expectation was that pang will be right after this stream. But the sign boards said its another 30Kms odd. Which means another 1 hr rode approximately. I decided I can make it short. Just revved, moved to rally mode, which means I will active and will not let the tiredness to take over me. after some time I stopped, becoz wanna check if everything is still with their rubber side down. ha! that time I felt a few stars around my eyes. No this cant happen to me. Emptied the water I had. No use though. Then saw Chetan passing me and sunil too and Sumit was also coming. So all the 4 fellows are still on the saddle. Thats good !! Showed a Thumps Up to Sumit ! I trust this fellow ! and moved on. Again to rally mode.I even tried locking the rear in few turns so that I will be cautious and awake. Cool the kms passed so fast and I reached the Check post. Man we need to climb up the check post to make an entry. I went there said the DL number and came down. He again called me, I need to Sign! Man no.. not again!! Went up and signed then realised that I dont ve water in my tank bag. Asked him and he said "Sirji, I ve only cold water" and he refused to give me. I begged me "Please Sir, give me a little, am felling dizzy".. he insisted. Sir just go a head a few kms and there will be Camps. Have hot water there. "COLD WATER WILL AGGRAVATE AMS". Am not sure wat I heard. ofcourse no time to look at our stupidity. Came down and saw Sumit vomiting, Chetan was almost finished. Sunil and me up but getting the symptoms. No time to waster moved ahead and we reached the camps. They realized our health and showed us the beds. We were served some hot Garlic water. Garlic helps in oxygen absorption !! While entering the camp. Chetan and Sunil were inside and Sumit was standing at the enterance. I asked Sumit to Move and waited for a couple of seconds. But since I was carrying all my luggage in patted him on the back and the poor fellow fell down. Shit! I was so very embrassed, quitely went in and laid on the bed. After a couple of mins Apolagized to him and made him understand that my intent was not to push him but just to enter the tent. Anyways he too understood that it was AMS in all us :)

Things changed drastically, when I put my head down on the pillow. For a couple of seconds there was a black out ! Then if I get up and sit it was fine. Then after a couple of minutes went to sleep. I would hear in my sleep, ppl asking Chetan and Sumit to visit the doc. Felt bad at their state. But I could Also hear Mohan's Voice loud and clear. Okies there is atleast one guy who is still up. Then after a while I heard Chetan's Voice clearly, which means he was gone to doctor and things ve changed. Then I heard some body saying that the Doc told VOMITING IS GOOD provided we drink enough HOT WATER.

I slowly got up, went out, I wouldnt see anyone's face clearly. Put my fingers into my mouth and took it out. ya after the vomit, things were clear. The blackishness cleared and I was able to see clearly. Sunil too followed the doctors advice and we decided to have a check up. Mohan came with us. Both me and Sunil had the oxygen mask for 15 minutes. He gave us some medicines and asked us to have some food. We had 1 roti each and went to our beds. Chetan and Sunil were both asleep. Hoped that things will be better tomorrow and Slept.

I had a sound sleep upto 3 in the morning. But after that it was very difficult to sleep. but tried to sleep. For a change I got up early.
