After we reached Chumur we eagerly went into the famous temple to hear the stories of the Lama and that of the witch. The walls of the temple had some beautiful paintings. The lama of the village came up from the village to the temple. He greeted us inside. he showed the preserved body of a great lama who once lived there. The grey hair of the lama still grew and the head lama comes and cuts the hair once in a year. We were able to see the Grey hair hanging out of his crown.

There were status of other lamas and gods I guess 13 of them. He then took us to the room where the hand the witch was hung. On the left and one of right along with other things that belonged to the witch. We were not allowed to enter the room. but were allowed to take photographs.

The room here the witch's Hand is hung>p>

The Lama whose hair Grows

After this we had our brunch, maggi maggi maggi.. Then we got into our cage and started towards leh. To leh one should follow back the same route upto the lake from which instead turning right to hanle we should proceed straight along the boundaries to the lake. After 2 hrs of driving we stoppped at place to have the lunch bread and jam, 5 each and kept a few biscuit packets as reserve. Meanwhile the Scorpio refused to pull along a incline. Some 4 of us got down and trekked up. The scorpio took a zig zag route and came up and we then happily jumped into it again

As we continued forward, we meet a Shepard He said that we need to make it fast.we were advised that there will be stream after Tso Kar that will wide and we need to cross it fast. So non stop we reached Tso Kar and ya there were numerous streams along side. Sometime we got down so that the scorpio does get stuck.

After we crossed Tso Kar we were happy that we are gonna make it to Leh, we stopped and emptied the reserves(less we knew that it was too early to celebrate)

After finishing off what we had, we moved happily that we will get the allu Parathas at chumatung for the night. Soon we started climbing a hill and the sun started to set and after a turn we saw this..........

The military truck was on the other side. The stream was ferocious that we couls hear stones rolling beneath it. So chance for us to cross, we waited upto 6:30 for the stream to reduce but in vain. The military walas cooked some chicken there cooked it and later left as they too caught offered to cross, as its uphill for them. The steram was still ferocious even the rocks we dropped in water is being carried away. This means that we had to spend the night there with no food and no shelter. Luckily we had the tent. So pitched it near the scorpio away from the stream. After pitching the tent I and Sunil asked for volunteers to join in the scorpio. We thought all would prefer the tent but to our surprise none was ready to get out the jeep. Look at the guys who wanted to be adventurous at Pangong Tso now are not ready to get out of the jeep. Reasons were, there are animals that will come in the night, I saw a fox enroute etc and atlast Chetan came out of stay in the tent. Sumit stayed in as he didnt get his Sleeping bag.

The whole place was illuminated by the milky way. ya there is no moon visible on that day. But the stars illuminate this place. I felt so happy that our fate made us stay a night in the light. The guy @ hanle did tell us this but I didnt expect it to be sooo Bright. One might think that am exaggerating but this the truth.
