day 6 - Anand to Little Rann and palampur

Got up early morning... brushed, bathed, had food and was all set to see the Rann.. Then came a shock to me... My frnd wanted to take tour to the "Amul" factory located at Anand and he said it will just take 3 to 4 hrs... I was like "Wat the F**k..????" are U kidding.... He was so adamant on this.. hell lot of arguments... he was like "U are jus interested in riding and covering places and nothing else.. we need to see places on the way.. that this etc".. I told him "boss... Am ready to see all places on the way.. but not these industries and coal mines...".. then he told a statement.. "Everything happens to ur own wish... U shud consider my wish too.." I really didnt like this statement.. then let go it... We were at the factory by 10.. then came the news the tour starts at 3 pm only.. To my fortune he didnt claim to stay up to 3... uuff.. signed a breath of relief and started to ahmedabad.. a whole 2 hrs lost.. and ya I made sure that am not gonna ride fast to catch up...


As expected there was lot of local traffic on the road.. and at a cross section.. A biker suddenly crossed the road from right to left..... I donno wat made him to cross.. while the whole traffic patiently waited.. A car on the other lane breaked hard to avoid him.. and I locked the rear and took a 160 degree turn.. hmm... it was close. but good I noted him shifting his gear.. so I was ready to tackle him.. Man y does this happen to me alone.... ?????

Fine took a break.. gulped some water and continued towards ahmedabad.. we took the J.Nehru rong road and soon we were on the viramgam highway.. the roads were smooth and straight.. we had a good company of a train.... it looked like a toy train...


We reached viramgam by 2.. had food there.. but it was too late to visit the 500 yr old lake.. so skipped it and moved towards little rann

we reached Dasada by 4 15.. My frnd wanted to stay in a resort thats some 30 km away.. we wanted the jeep safari.. I told him that we go it in the bikes itself.. but he was in no mood to listen.. so followed him and reached the resort.. Their costs were too high they make jeep rides one at 9 and other at 3.. it was late.. and it costs 4K for a night... Again dropped the plan and back tracked to the Dasada and then to the sanctuary which was jus 1 km away from the place were we stopped.. time was almost 5:30.. we hurried by unloaded the bags.. took the guide and the officers son and we were off on the Rann..

Jus then we entered the Rann the fun started.. the Guide on his bike knows only Gujarati and the boy knows only Hindi.. so a result none could understand anything... And The trip meter just crossed 2000 KM... Hurray!!!!!!!!!!
Ride through the Rann was interesting.. there were rains a week before.. but then on sun showed no mercy.. so the land was rock solid with huge cracks.... and the impressions (holes) made by the foot prints of the horse (and its siblings) made it very difficult to speed up.... I rode to a max of 60s worth them to shoot them... it was really nice like the ones we see in discovery... the cam in a hand and trying to be on pace with the animals...

After returning from the Rann... we bid adieu to the guides and that is when he asked.. "ve u already come.. there were 2 guys who came from Banglr and they were heading towards jaisalmar..."... I was soo happy and I said no it was vicky and praveen.. they are our frnds............

Then we continue towards Palampur via Mehsana... The roads were little bad.. for a few km after Vanod.. and soon it was ok... suddenly my frnd came near me and said.. dae.. its complete dark here drive carefully... then I notices the roads were complete dark.. no lights since some 15 km.. I jus remebered the GP3 ride... carried on.. and soo we reached Mehsanaand continued via sidhpur and kanodar to palampur.. Got a decent hotel there.. and crashed for the day...
